About Eye Opening Bloody Mary

The Eye Opening Bloody Mary is a bold and invigorating cocktail that takes the classic Bloody Mary to new heights. This version combines 750 ml of vodka with 46 ounces of V8 vegetable juice, creating a robust and savory base. The addition of three tablespoons each of white horseradish and Worcestershire sauce introduces a zesty kick, while fresh lime juice adds a bright, citrusy note. For those who enjoy a bit of heat, one tablespoon of hot sauce and a teaspoon of ground red cayenne peppers provide a fiery edge. The drink is rounded off with one and a half teaspoons of celery salt, contributing a savory depth that enhances the overall flavor profile. This cocktail is perfect for those seeking a vigorous start to their day or a flavorful brunch accompaniment.

The Bloody Mary has a storied history, believed to have originated in the 1920s or 1930s. Its creation is often credited to Fernand Petiot, a bartender at Harry's New York Bar in Paris, who later brought the drink to the United States. The cocktail was named after either Queen Mary I of England or a waitress named Mary who worked at a Chicago bar called the Bucket of Blood. Over the years, the Bloody Mary has evolved with numerous variations, each adding unique twists to the original recipe. The Eye Opening Bloody Mary is one such variation, designed to awaken the senses with its bold flavors and invigorating spices.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Rocks or Old-Fashioned Glass, though any glass works!
