About Long Iver Iced Tea

The Long Iver Iced Tea is a refreshing and tropical twist on the classic Long Island Iced Tea. This cocktail combines a medley of spirits, including coconut rum, Absolut vodka, Tanqueray gin, tequila, and triple sec, creating a harmonious blend that offers a unique island flair. The addition of coconut rum adds a sweet, exotic note that sets it apart from its more traditional cousin. The drink is rounded out with a splash of sour mix, enhancing its tangy profile, and a topping of Coca-Cola provides a slight effervescence and a hint of caramel sweetness. A wedge of lemon is often used as a garnish, adding a citrusy aroma and a touch of elegance to the presentation.

The Long Iver Iced Tea, much like the Long Island Iced Tea, is believed to have origins in the 1970s. The classic version was reportedly created by Robert "Rosebud" Butt in Long Island, New York, as part of a contest to make a mixed drink using triple sec. Over time, variations like the Long Iver Iced Tea have emerged, incorporating different flavors to suit diverse palates. This particular version appeals to those who enjoy tropical and citrusy notes, making it a popular choice for those seeking a taste of the islands in their cocktail experience.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Collins Glass, though any glass works!
