About Mezcal Bloody Maria

The Mezcal Bloody Maria is a smoky, spicy twist on the classic Bloody Mary, offering a rich tapestry of flavors that invigorate the senses. This drink replaces the traditional vodka with mezcal, a distilled alcoholic beverage made from the agave plant, giving it a distinctive, earthy smokiness. The addition of chili sauce and hot sauce brings a fiery kick, while the Bloody Mary mix provides the familiar savory base with hints of tomato and spice. Fresh lime juice adds a zesty citrus note that brightens the overall profile of the cocktail.

The history of the Bloody Mary dates back to the early 20th century, often attributed to Fernand Petiot, a bartender at Harry's New York Bar in Paris. The Mezcal Bloody Maria, however, is a modern adaptation, reflecting the growing popularity of mezcal in contemporary mixology. This variant showcases the versatility of mezcal and celebrates the bold, complex flavors that can be achieved by integrating traditional Mexican ingredients and influences. It's a perfect brunch cocktail for those who enjoy a bit of adventure in their glass.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Collins Glass, though any glass works!
