About Mikes Long Beach

The Mike's Long Beach cocktail is a vibrant and refreshing twist on the classic Long Island Iced Tea. It features a harmonious blend of 1/2 oz each of vodka, gin, light rum, and tequila, which creates a robust and spirited base. The addition of 1/2 oz of triple sec and simple syrup introduces a touch of sweetness, while 1/2 oz of lime juice adds a zesty kick. What sets the Mike's Long Beach apart is its use of 2 oz of cranberry juice, which imparts a lovely, tart fruitiness and a striking red hue to the drink. To finish, it's topped with 2 oz of lemon-lime soda, providing a refreshing fizz and a citrusy note that complements the other flavors beautifully.

The Long Beach cocktail is a variation of the Long Island Iced Tea, a beverage that gained popularity in the 1970s. The Long Island Iced Tea is known for its potent mix of spirits and its deceptive tea-like appearance when cola is added. Mike's Long Beach swaps the cola for cranberry juice and lemon-lime soda, resulting in a lighter, fruitier version that's perfect for those who enjoy a bit of tanginess and effervescence in their cocktails. While the exact origins of Mike's Long Beach are not well-documented, it is appreciated for its balance of flavors and its ability to pack a punch while still being refreshingly easy to drink.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Hurricane Glass, though any glass works!
