Non-alcoholic Coffee, Tea, or Cocoa Highball Glass 6 ingredients

Recipe

  • 6 tblsp Fine ground whole, rich Coffee beans?
  • 1/4 tsp Coriander, ground
  • 4-5 whole green Cardamom pods, ground
  • Sugar
  • Whipping Cream
  • Ice

Instructions

Place the Coffee and spices in the filter cone of your Coffee maker. Brew Coffee as usual, let it cool. In a tall glass, dissolve 1 or 2 teaspoons of Sugar in an ounce of the Coffee (its easier to dissolve than if you put it right over ice). Add 5-6 ice cubes and pour Coffee to within about 1 inch of the top of the glass. Rest a spoon on top of the Coffee and slowly pour Whipping Cream into the spoon. This will make the Cream float on top of the Coffee rather than dispersing into it right away.

About Thai Coffee

Thai Coffee is a delightful and aromatic beverage that brings together the robust flavors of finely ground rich coffee beans with the exotic allure of spices. The drink is uniquely characterized by its blend of ground coriander and whole green cardamom pods, which infuse the coffee with a warm and slightly citrusy aroma. This combination of spices adds a distinctive depth and complexity to the coffee, setting it apart from traditional brews. Sweetened with sugar to taste, the coffee is then enriched with a smooth layer of whipping cream, creating a luscious and indulgent experience. Served over ice, Thai Coffee is both refreshing and invigorating, making it an ideal treat for any time of the day.

The history of Thai Coffee is influenced by Thailand's rich culinary tradition of using spices to enhance flavors. Coffee culture in Thailand has been evolving, with local and international influences blending to create unique beverages. The use of cardamom and coriander in coffee reflects the Thai culinary penchant for balancing and harmonizing flavors, a hallmark of Thai cuisine. While not as well-known as Thai iced tea, Thai Coffee is gaining popularity among coffee enthusiasts who appreciate its unique taste and fragrant aroma. It is a testament to Thailand's innovative spirit in adopting and adapting international influences to create something distinctly Thai.

This coffee, tea, or cocoa is non-alcoholic. Best served in a Highball Glass, though any glass works!

Feel free to get creative with substitutions — try different fruit types, sugar substitutes, or liquor brands. Crafting cocktails should be fun!
