About Maple Citrus Hot Toddy

The Maple Citrus Hot Toddy is a warm, comforting cocktail that marries the soothing qualities of tea with the robust flavors of bourbon whiskey. This drink is sweetened with maple syrup, which adds a rich, earthy sweetness that complements the tartness of fresh lemons and oranges. The addition of spices such as cinnamon, cloves, and star anise infuses the drink with a fragrant warmth, making it perfect for chilly evenings or as a soothing remedy for a cold.

The hot toddy has a long history, originating in the 18th century as a popular British beverage. It was traditionally made with hot water, spirit, sugar, and spices, and was often consumed as a medicinal concoction to ward off the chill of winter. Over time, the drink evolved, and various cultures introduced their own twists. The Maple Citrus Hot Toddy is a modern take, blending traditional elements with North American flavors like maple syrup and citrus, creating a drink that is both comforting and revitalizing.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Coffee Mug, though any glass works!
