About Shanans Bloody Mary

Shanan's Bloody Mary is a vibrant twist on the classic cocktail, known for its savory, spicy, and tangy flavors. This rendition enhances the traditional blend with a dash of salt, peppers, and celery salt, providing a robust base. The addition of horseradish brings an extra kick, while Worcestershire and hot sauce add layers of savory depth and zesty heat. The Bloody Mary Seasoning further enriches the flavor profile, making it uniquely satisfying. With a foundation of 3 oz of V8 vegetable juice and an equal amount of vodka, this cocktail is both refreshing and bracing. Garnished with a stalk of celery, a pepperoncini, an olive, and wedges of lemon and lime, it offers a delightful array of textures and tastes. The Stirrings Bloody Mary Rimmer adds a finishing touch, enhancing the overall experience with a seasoned rim.

The Bloody Mary cocktail has a storied history, believed to have been invented in the early 1920s. The most common origin story credits Fernand Petiot, a bartender at Harry's New York Bar in Paris, with creating the drink. Originally known as the "Bucket of Blood," it was later renamed for Queen Mary I of England, due to her eerie moniker "Bloody Mary." Over the decades, the cocktail has evolved with countless variations, becoming a brunch staple renowned for its supposed hangover-curing properties and its customizable garnishes, making it a beloved choice for those seeking a bold and flavorful beverage.

This cocktail is alcoholic, so drink responsibly! Best served in a Highball Glass, though any glass works!
